“If I hadn't lost my hearing, I wouldn't be where I am now. It forced me to maximize my own potential. I have to be better than the average person to succeed.”
― Lou Ferrigno
World Deaf Day is celebrated every year on the last Sunday of September all over the world commemorating the famous deaf artist, Granville Richard Seymour Redmond (born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA in the year 1871). He had acquired hearing loss in his childhood due to attack of scarlet fever. Owing to the family support and talent, he became a renowned artist. Cherishing this inspirational story, the world deaf day aims at creating awareness to the general public about hearing impairment, sharing the success stories of people with hearing impairment and improving their quality of life.
